I've lived in Galveston for 12 years.
In that time I've restored two historic houses, fathered three kids (Georgia - 6, Lola - 3, and Peter - 1), and suffered through one really, really intense sunburn.
By day I'm the purchasing manager for a local construction company. By night I'm struggling to out-parent the rest of you.
My partner in life, Lauren, is a past president of ChilCo, so I know everything. All of it.
Introverted feminist. Comedian (as you can tell).
Amy joined the board in 2014. She was previously involved in 2012 but took a leave of absence for the birth of her second daughter.
Megan came to Galveston when her husband joined UTMB for his pediatric residency, they loved it so much, they decided to stay! Her two BOI children have attended the coalition since 2016. Her husband works on the mainland, but she remains on the island and works as an attorney for Mills Shirley. In her spare time (ha!), she enjoys reading and running.
Kim joined the Chilco board in January 2017 as the Fundraising Chair while serving as the classroom parent for the Bumble Bees. By day, Kim works at UTMB and by night, she is a self proclaimed expert on all things Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Her 3-year old daughter Kaitlyn is in the Monkey Classroom and is also the first BOI in the family! Kim recently married Kevin and the three of them reside in Webster, TX. They are an active bunch that loves the Children's Coalition.
I was raised in Galveston and returned to raise her family here after graduating from UT Austin. She enjoys watching her kids play sports, cooking, gardening and doing house projects. She has two daughters and a son, Davis, who has attended the coalition since 2014.
I'm the proud mother of five fabulous human beings and grandmother to nine pretty awesome little people!
I found my home in child care about twenty'five years ago and I've loved every minute! Helping children to grow and develope their minds is my passion. I got my Child Development Associate credential years ago and continue to take yearly continuing education classes to stay current on my educational training.
The Children's Coalition has been my home since shortly after opening in 2009 and I couldn't be happier!
