Past President

I've lived in Galveston for 12 years.

In that time I've restored two historic houses, fathered three kids (Georgia - 6, Lola - 3, and Peter - 1), and suffered through one really, really intense sunburn.

By day I'm the purchasing manager for a local construction company.  By night I'm struggling to out-parent the rest of you.

My partner in life, Lauren, is a past president of ChilCo, so I know everything.  All of it.

Introverted feminist.  Comedian (as you can tell).

Megan Jones
President

Megan came to Galveston when her husband joined UTMB for his pediatric residency, they loved it so much, they decided to stay! Her two BOI children have attended the coalition since 2016. Her husband works on the mainland, but she remains on the island and works as an attorney for Mills Shirley. In her spare time (ha!), she enjoys reading and running.

Communications

I was raised in Galveston and returned to the island after Ike to raise my family. I am a UT Austin Graduate, Hook Ém, and work for the local school district.  I enjoy watching my kids perform under the Friday night lights or play sports, cooking, relaxing with friends and doing house projects.  I have two daughters and a son, Davis, who has attended The Coalition since 2014.

I'm the proud mother of five fabulous human beings and grandmother to nine pretty awesome little people!

I found my home in child care about twenty'five years ago and I've loved every minute! Helping children to grow and develope their minds is my passion. I got my Child Development Associate credential years ago and continue to take yearly continuing education classes to stay current on my educational training.

The Children's Coalition has been my home since shortly after opening in 2009 and I couldn't be happier!
