Kimberly Boyles
Executive Director

I became the Executive Director of ChilCo in 2017. At the young age of 37, I began my battle with Cancer. With God's grace, healing hands, and fabulous doctors, I am now cancer-free and have a new appreciation of life. Originally, I’m from Oklahoma, but once I got that Galveston sand between my toes, my soul was where it was always meant to be.

I am a proud mother of four children. Being a mom, working full time, and going to school, I developed a passion for educating children and their families. I have been a childcare Director with 24 years of experience in child development. I have an Associate in Child Development from Northern Oklahoma College. I worked as an assistant Director for Community Action Head Start Program for 9 years, completed my Master Teacher Certification from Northern Oklahoma College, and owned and operated a Three-Star Child Care Facility in Oklahoma for 8 years. I have received a Bronze Level Director credential from Oklahoma, a Non-Expiring Director credential in the state of Texas, completed a Fellowship For Leadership from the University of Oklahoma and made a non- accredited Childcare Facility to a Three-Star Accreditation for Texas Rising Star in less than 3 years of becoming the Director of the facility. I am a Registered Trainer (#47164) with the Texas Childhood Professional Development System, and I am currently continuing education for the National Director Credential. I believe that all children should have a solid foundation to learn and express their interests in a safe and supportive environment. My vision for The Children's Coalition is to make it the best place for our children to develop and grow intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.

My husband Nick and I are both Texas transplants who grew up on the East Coast. We moved to Houston after finishing our MFA in Painting in 2009 and came to Galveston in 2011. I’m the program manager for a small nonprofit arts organization here on the island, where I can be found every Artwalk! I love how Galveston continuously surprises me. No matter how long I’m here I’m constantly discovering new facets of the island to inspire and intrigue! From the fascinating history, to the yearly bird migrations, to the ever-changing colors of the Gulf. In my spare time I love to draw and paint, sew and knit my own clothing, tend to my roses, and I’m always in the middle of a book!

In 2019 we welcomed our son into the world and became a part of the Chilco community. Parenting without extended family close by is not for the faint of heart! I’ve come to feel like Chilco IS my extended family. They make me a better parent and I couldn’t do it without them!

I am happy to have made Galveston my home. I married a BOI, and my two boys are 5th generation BOIs. I did my training for anesthesiology at UTMB, and I’ve been faculty since 2019. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my children outside, either at the pool, beach, or park.

We love the unique opportunities Galveston offers. We love the feeling of community on this island. We are lucky to have such an excellent preschool on the island!

I was born and raised in Bryan/ College Station, TX. I went to undergrad and medical school at Texas A&M. The beach and residency at UTMB brought me to Galveston! My husband, Art, and I love the ocean, the sun, and all the fun activities around Galveston, so we decided this is the best place to live and raise a family! I stayed here as faculty in pediatrics at UTMB. We now have 2 BOI's, Adelina and Martín. We love going to the beach, swimming, and attending all the great festivals on the island, especially Mardi Gras! We are lucky our kids attend the best preschool on the island with the most caring and compassionate teachers.

I moved to Galveston in 2009 for 6 months, or so I thought. I met my husband, Bain the BOI, shortly after moving to Galveston, and never left. We have two children, Johnny and Marilee, who like to keep us guessing on this whole parenting thing.

I am an Event Coordinator at UTMB and when I'm not planning events, my family and I enjoy exploring our Island from the East End to the West End.

I am originally from Dallas and moved down to the island to attend Texas A&M at Galveston to study Marine Biology. I fell in love with the island and just never left. It is where I met my wife (Sarah) and where we had our two kids (Ruby and Beau). I am an avid surfer and hunter. I currently work for the County of Galveston managing the road maintenance for the unincorporated areas of the County. I can't think of a better place to raise my family. You can't have a bad day at the beach!

I'm the proud mother of five fabulous human beings and grandmother to nine pretty awesome little people!

I found my home in child care about twenty five years ago and I've loved every minute! Helping children to grow and develop their minds is my passion. I got my Child Development Associate credential years ago and take continuing education classes annually to stay current on my educational training.

The Children's Coalition has been my home since shortly after opening in 2009 and I couldn't be happier!
